Full-Time conference attendees who complete all required evaluation and attendance documentation are eligible to receive the maximum number of contact hours. Daily registrants can receive credit for each day in attendance. No partial credit will be awarded. NBCC approval is limited to the sponsoring organization and does not necessarily imply endorsement of individual offerings. It is the responsibility of the provider to abide by NBCC guidelines.

Conference Objectives
1. To identify assessment and treatment dilemmas in adolescent substance use and co-occurring disordersand concepts to bridge mental health and addiction systems.
2. To identify advances in the assessment of at-risk factors and the “tie-in” between diagnosis and treatment planning.
3. To identify clinical advances and research on the treatment of adolescents/young adults with trauma, dissociation and attachment conflicts.
4. To discuss how the trajectory of brain development from childhood through maturity allows for the understanding of the relationship between social brain (prefrontal cortical areas) and the right cortical hemisphere and how these areas prepare the adolescent and young adult for responsible living.
5. Identify how and why such life-affirming needs of joy, purpose and serenity get abandoned in our lives and replaced with self-defeating behaviors.
6. To discuss anger and aggression and their treatment from a perspective that includes anger as a strategy employed as need for control caused by fear of loss of control.
