Credits: 1 CE Distance Learning

Many people enter therapy, and despite our best efforts, achieve only partial improvement. This presentation will focus on many issues that often derail successful treatment. We will explore the following: Maximizing sleep to improve emotional regulation, new findings and cautions regarding melatonin, common unrecognized medical illnesses that affect 10% of our clients and how to screen for this, dietary supplements: products that are supported by research and the legal and ethical issues in recommending them to clients, and the role of bright light and exercise. The strategies are high-yield approaches to achieving better outcomes in counseling and psychotherapy.
