Helen E. Fisher , PhD

An American anthropologist, human behavior researcher, and self-help author, she is a professor at Rutgers University and has studied romantic interpersonal attraction for over 30 years. She is a leading expert on the biology of love and attraction and is now the most referenced scholar in the love research community. In 2005, she was hired by match.com to develop personality-based matching systems. She is a TED Talks all-star with five major speeches there.  Dr. Fisher has written six books, including Why We Love, The Nature and Chemistry of Romantic Love, Why Him? Why Her? How to Find and Keep Lasting Love and her most recent Anatomy of Love (2nd ed.) 2016. She appears in the 2014 documentary film about heartbreak entitled Sleepless in New York.
